Event summary
This course, offered by Centre for African Family Studies (CAFS), aims to equip programme managers working in Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) programmes with skills to design and implement effective behaviour change communication interventions for HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria programmes.
The course includes the following topics:
- Understanding Behaviour and Behaviour Change
- Designing Effective Behaviour Change Communication Interventions
- Promoting Health Literacy Among Communities
- Developing Appropriate Messages and Materials to promote Behaviour Change
The course aims to offer participants the skills to:
- develop effective behaviour change communication approaches for HIV & AIDS prevention, care , treatment and support interventions;
- conduct behaviour analysis to identify motivators and inhibitors to behaviour change;
- conduct communication, stakeholder and audience analysis; and
- develop and design appropriate messages and materials for health promotion.
This course is designed for programme officers and managers working in the field of HIV & AIDS prevention and health education in various sectors including ministries of health, HIV and AIDS NGOs, reproductive health organisations, civil society, and for-profit organisations. Programme Officers working for multi- and bi-lateral organisations that are responsible for providing technical assistance to national organisations or projects, will also benefit from this course.
