Media dialogue on the enacted Tobacco Control Act2015

31st August 2016 UHCA hosted a Media dialogue on the enacted Tobacco Control Act2015 at Ministers Village Hotel Kampala Uganda. The interactive session mainly focused on the Tobacco control Act2015 Implementation and the involvement of the media. With presentations from Dr. Wendo Charles on the TC Act, Patricia Kahill on social media reporting and Monica Rukundo pretesting the samples of the billboards. Participants also engaged in practical ways of using platforms such as the blog and twitter.

The discussions where moderated by Richard Baguma the Coordinator of UHCA. Thee Tobacco Control Champion Ms. Sophie Gombya also made several insights in the discussions, several interviews were also made and as a result of the media dialogue several participating media houses run the stories in their news.
